Taking a moment to relax...

I don't usually get stressed but this week seemed a little more challenging this usual.  I'd been working out pretty hard, managing several projects at work and had small life tasks piling up like doing laundry, paying my car tax and cleaning my house.

Last night, Eric and I took a moment to relax. We walked up to Wayland Square and stopped in to the outdoor patio at L'Artisan Cafe & Bakery. We treated ourselves to a bottle of wine and some dessert and grabbed a seat on the outdoor patio.

We decided to go with a bottle of pinot noir by The Pino Project. It was delicious and I was very pleased with our choice. Eric has a sweet tooth so also picked up a giant chocolate chip cookie and a coconut macaroon.

The cafe was playing music on their outdoor speaker system and for a minute, I really felt like I was sitting in an outdoor cafe in Paris!

The wine, sweets and atmosphere was a great way to wind down at the midpoint of the week.  It was much needed and appreciated. After about an hour or so, we hit the road to walk home and turn in for the night talking about how much enjoyed our night in Paris...I mean Providence sipping wine outside at L'Artisan!

Where do you like to go to relax? Is there an outdoor cafe in your neighborhood that you like to visit?

My new WC

In April, I celebrated 3 lovely years living in Wayland Square. After I renovated my kitchen last year, I decided my WC could use a facelift as well.

In April, Eric and I took a weekend trip to Chatham Bars Inn on the Cape for this birthday and I loved the bathroom in our suite. I used it as the inspiration for the new look!

I already had replaced the vanity and the shower is relatively new but I decided a few small changes would make my bathroom a lot more attractive.

The first thing the contractors did was remove the vanity and rip up the old floor and lay in the new tiles.

A sneak peek at the new look
I was really happy with how the tile floor looked at the end of day one. Even though it was a little bit pricer, I opted to use the satin white and with black dot mosaic tiles. I thought it would give my tiny bathroom a more sophisticated look. There were much more affordable then I expected at Lowe's

I also replaced all of the molding and added Cape Cod style white bead board to each of the walls. It really pulled the room together.  At the end of Day 3 I was really excited with the finished product [...and to have my only bathroom back!].

Check out the video tour of the almost finished product:

I need to paint the molding and bead board which I hope to do sometime this summer. It has just been too darn hot to even think about it.

What do you think of the new look? What type of home improvements do you want to do on your home?

My Best Friend's Wedding

Over the weekend, I attended one of my best friends weddings!  Erica and Aaron got married at the Hingham Harbor Gazebo and had their reception at Nantasket Beach Resort.

As a bridesmaid, I got an up close and personal pass to Erica's wedding. I got to spend several days with her amazing family and experience all of the extra special moments.

The beautiful bride was escorted down the aisle by her father
Eric and I enjoying the reception.

It was the perfect seaside wedding.  Congrats to the Bride and Groom!
